The Clinical Pharmacology course will give you the skills to design, analyse, interpret and report clinical research and clinical trials. It focuses on understanding what a drug is doing to the body (pharmacodynamics), what happens to a drug in the body (pharmacokinetics), and how drugs work in terms of treating a particular disease.

It is designed for scientists, physicians, clinical scientists and allied health professionals interested in the clinical development process.

The Drug Development Science course is one of our three MSc courses in pharmaceutical medicines designed for those working in, or seeking to work in, the field of drug development, including pharmaceutical companies, contract research organisations and regulatory authorities. 

The Drug Development Science course is a highly flexible study programme designed for those working in or seeking to work in the field of drug development. The course aims to provide students with expertise and skills in all aspects of medicine development, including pre-clinical testing, clinical development, drug regulation and drug safety.

The Medical Affairs MSc course will give you the skills to operate as a bridge between the pharmaceutical industry and the wider medical community, including key thought leaders across a range of therapeutic specialisms, as well as with patient groups, regulatory authorities and beyond. The course builds from a sound appreciation of the clinical development of new medicines, to focus on understanding how to effectively link science and commercial activity, by providing scientific and commercial support for medicines.

It is designed for scientists, physicians, pharmacists and allied health professionals. This is the world’s first MSc in Medical Affairs and still the only one on offer.  This course is delivered in close partnership with the pharmaceutical industry. Many experts from pharma teach, run workshops, supervise dissertations and examine students. Pharma also employs most of our graduates.

The first course of its kind in the UK, the Stem Cell & Regenerative Therapies: From Bench to Market MSc combines biological and medical science with business, law and bioethics.

Designed to develop expertise in the biological, commercial and regulatory aspects of cellular therapies and its applications in biomedicine, the course equips students to pursue a business-based career in cellular therapy or related disciplines.

The UK’s first MSc apprenticeship in Clinical Pharmacology

King’s is the first and only UK university to be approved as a training provider for Level 7 Apprenticeship Standard for Clinical Pharmacology Scientists. This career development apprenticeship is intended for all those involved in clinical pharmacology studies and early-stage clinical research in both the public and private sectors.

Completion of the apprenticeship will provide candidates with:

  • MSc in Clinical Pharmacology from King’s College London

  • A recognised Apprenticeship as a Clinical Pharmacology Scientist

  • Eligibility for full membership of the British Pharmacological Society

The study programme is compliant with the European PharmaTrain initiative. The UK Government will provide funding for each apprentice as part of the National Apprenticeship Scheme.
